Am I entitled to pay for scheduled hours upon termination?

Employment 1 views 1 answers
I have been told that in NM if an employee is not afforded to work their scheduled hours the employer is required to pay them regardless. What I need to know is since I was a salaried employee on a posted schedule for the next two weeks, are they obligated to pay me for those two weeks?

Please note that I am not admitted to the practice of law in your state. Therefore my comments are general and may not be considered legal advice. Generally speaking, unless there is a severance agreement in place, you do not get paid for work you have not performed (even though it is scheduled) once you have been terminated. If your employer has a different arrangement with employees, and you are not afforded the benefit of that, you might have a claim but I have no information from your post about anything like that.
