To immediately hire a reputable personal injury lawyer licensed in your state. The insurance company is attempting to "low ball" you - which they always do when they see the individual is unrepresented by competent counsel.
Your best option is to contact a personal injury lawyer in your area for a free consultation. You did not provide much information about the accident but the settlement offer seems insultingly low. Call a lawyer. You have nothing to lose.
The 1000$ would not even cover you medical bill lien never mind reimburse you for pain and suffering. Do not settle, find experienced counsel to guide you through the negotiation process and to make sure that you do not have other avenues of recovery such as underinsured benefits.

you must file suit within one year. it depends of who was at fault, how it happened, what tmt you had, and when. it is worth your time to call a good mva atty and get the answers as to what you can do. asap, because you must file suit within one year from the date of the injury, and any atty will need a few weeks to prepare the proper suit.
thank you, jay stillman, atty
You need to consult with a personal injury attorney immediately. I can tell you from experience with Allstate here in Tennessee, there's a strong possibility that litigation will have to commence prior to receiving full compensation for each and everyone of your injuries economic and non econommic. The fact that the adjuster is offering so little so close to the statute of limitations makes it crystal clear that you need to get an attorney ASAP.
Because your statute of limitations date is approaching quickly, you need to consult with and get a reputable personal injury attorney immediately, preferably one who works at a firm that is accustomed to litigating. If you do not get an attorney to file your lawsuit before the statute of limitations run, you may lose the ability to get compensated and reimbursed for your injuries.
You still have time to have a lawyer review your claim. TN has a 1 year statute of limitations, so you do not need to delay in seeking representation. You did not give any details about the accident or your injury. It sounds like the insurance company does not think there is any fault on the part of their insured driver or that your injury warrants such medical expense. However, any good lawyer can review your claim and tell you whether your claim warrants representation or pursuit on your own.
You need an experienced personal injury attorney right away. I agree with the other attorney answers in that at this stage, you should look for a car accident attorney with litigation experience. It would appear from your description that the insurance company is banking on you not hiring an attorney and attempting to wait out the statute of limitations.
