Can I get my misdemeanor theft expunged in Missouri?

I was arrested for stealing (misdemeanor) a year and a half ago. I entered a guilty plea and got a Suspended Imposition of Sentence. I have since completed my community service and 1 year unsupervised probation.

No. You will be unable under the current law to gain an arrest or offense expungement.

Maybe I am missing something here but if you truly got an SIS and you have made it successfully through probation, then there is nothing to expunge.? Please consult an attorney in your area to check the timing of the plea and the successful completion of probation. Good luck.

Under the current law, you are ineligible to have an arrest expunged if you received a Suspended Imposition of Sentence (SIS). See RSMo. 610.122. However, with the SIS, the record becomes closed and is not available to the general public upon successful completion of probation.
