Why RFE(request for evidence) came for 1 person only while 3 cases were suspended?

I have 3 i-485 cases based on asylum. I received asylum and my wife and child also received and they were present in USA. So after 1 year we filed i-485 to adjust status. So 3 cases in total. All cases where suspended and USCIS asked me to submit i-508 form.
My question is Why USCIS suspended my family members cases? USCIS requested i-508 from only me as far as I entered US with A2 visa, wife and child entered with B2 visa.
So why wife and child's cases where also stopped, because they were derivative asylees?
Presumably you are the principal asylee. Since none of them applied for asylum in their own right their applications are dependent on yours. CIS will not make a decision on their case until your case is complete.

You're right, it doesn't make much sense. But as soon as you get that I508 submitted, the case will resume normal processing, so it might be best to stop worrying about why, and get it mailed out.
Since you are likely the primary asylum applicant, and your wife and child are your derivatives/ dependents on your application, their legal status is tied and connected to your own. Hence principal applicant versus derivatives. Just respond within the RFE deadline and provide them the form i-508 as requested, so that you and their cases may resume as promptly as possible.
