Can I have some insight on what this is and what it entails. My sons father will possibly facing this. am I supposed to prepare. I do plan on retaining a lawyer for all proceedings. I am the sole custodian. Also I believe he might be hiding from cps, what are the repercussions of that? Thanks!

You need an attorney and to provide the specifics and proofs. Failure to protect is a variant on neglect or abuse for which a person is is responsible for the child has not prevented harm to them.
