I'm trying to get back in the army but I have this stopping me. Can a sealed case be opened and re evaluated in my case?

I got into some trouble in 2012, for petty larceny. The day I went to court I spoke to a legal aid who convinced me that if i pled guilty my charge will be dropped to a disorderly conduct and it'll be sealed. I pled guilty, did my community service and paid the fine. Well on my disposition paper there's nothing on there that says it was a disorderly conduct and when my recruiter went to get a detailed form on the incident it doesn't say disordely conduct. It shows the amount it was wich is above $500 and that stops me from joining. I can't get a waiver. I was told that the courts pay the legal aid to just get the case over and done with, I felt like I got played. I havent gotten in any trouble and I feel that I am a law abiding citizen. I love serving my country, Is there anything I can do

The Certificate of Disposition should show that you plead guilty to PL 240.20. The paper with the $500 is probably the Criminal Court complaint. The only way to reopen your case is a CPL 440 motion or agreement by the DA. I suggest that you consult with a good criminal defense lawyer.
