If I wasn't given a legal 30-day notice (for retaliation) and they wont accept my rent when do I have to vacate?

I am sub-renting from my boyfriends cousins. It is one bedroom, living room/ dining area combined with a sink, no appliances. The agreement was $500 rent/mo $400 deposit in $100 installments and we would discuss pg&e when bill came. My sister and the cousin from upstairs got into a slight argument over her pulling into the driveway to drop me off. Later that night I get an email saying I've got 30 days to vacate. Can my deposit be withheld due to unpaid pg&e bill?

It is doubtful that you can be evicted on a 30 day notice because Oakland has rent control. I am a Los Angeles lawyer so I'm not conversant on Oakland rent control, so, if the cousin files a lawsuit for unlawful detainer, you can probably defend it if you retain an experienced local tenant's rights attorney.
