Do I need an attorney experienced in Missouri family law.

Child Support 3 views 2 answers
I have a custody order that consists of me having Legal Custody but 50/50 custody with her mother &our daughter will use my address. We agreed on no child support because I already expended a lot during my 2 years going for full custody &she started showing signs of stability at the time. Now because she's had another baby and the father isn't in the picture,I fear that she may take me to court for child support to keep her household afloat.I already pay for everything my child needs(the reason why the agreement worked)and offered to keep her full-time if things go awry.I am wondering do I need an experienced family law attorney to enforce our court ordered custody agreement or if the agreement is enough.

Assuming she is not currently violating the order. If nothing changes then no. If she starts disobeying the current order or makes a motion to change the custody order then yes you will need an attorney.

Generally, custody and support are two separate issues and you make no allegation that there is any reason to change the custody arrangement that exists. You're entire issue seems to be payment of support. Having said that, you likely will need a lawyer to deal with the support issue if the mother ask to a change in the current order so an attorney, experienced in family law because support is part of that experience, will likely be needed.
