How do I find a criminal lawyer I can pay after he wins the case?

My fiancee was arrested for a crime he didnt commit and the public defender he has is not doing anything to help him. I want to hire a real lawyer who will put the work into it to make sure that he gets what he deserves which is not too long. I am willing to pay a lawyer a couple grand now then low payments monthly but most of the money I can pay off after he/she wins the case! So how can I find a criminal lawyer like this? Anyone know or have any ideas please help me. Thank you!

You may find many private attorneys that will work with you on a payment plan-but I would be wary of any attorney that would enter into an agreement such as the one you are suggesting. A criminal defense attorney has a duty to investigate a case that is independent from the State/Federal Government. When you retain an attorney you are paying for that attorney's time to conduct the investigation, research the law, review the evidence and render an opinion as to the possible outcomes. No attorney can guarantee a "win." No one can predict with entire certainty what a Judge or Jury will do. I think that the question you should be asking yourself is how much is your fiancee's liberty worth?

You are describing a fee schedule based on a contingency. This type of arrangement is unlawful in criminal cases. Furthermore, it is unethical for an attorney to guarantee winning a case. If your attorney has done so, I would recommend finding a different attorney. Douglas R. Coenson, Esq. [email protected] (561) 315-2120 Jupiter, FL

No criminal lawyer that I know would enter into such an arrangement. Under what you prose the lawyer doesn't get paid if your bf is found guilty for whatever reason, even if he later admits guilt. Sorry but only a sucker would go for this.

it is unethical in the state of florida for a lawyer to enter a contingency agreement on a criminal case. that means a lawyer can not take your fiancee's case hoping to get paid only if he wins. the lawyer would be disbarred or sanctioned. there are many lawyers out there and price should only be one small consideration of who you hire. good luck to you!
