I have a question regarding medical malpractice.

I developed a hole in the bottom of my heel after a cast was removed by a cast tech. There was a large amount of dead, calloused skin on the bottom of my heel and the tech proceeded to remove it. I believe that this is when the hole occurred and I did not know about it due to the fact that I have neuropathy in my feet. The doctor then examined my foot and said nothing about a hole. The cast came off in the beginning of December and by January the physical therapy tech I was sent to noticed a bad odor coming from my foot. He said that he would talk to the doctor about sending me to wound care. I did end up getting an appointment with wound care, but other circumstances sent me to the ER and I ended up being admitted for stomach issues and the wound on my foot.

You did not post whether you sustained a permanent injury to your foot, but if so, a local malpractice lawyer can certainly order your records to investigate.

You haven't really asked any question? I am assuming you have an issue with what you call a "hole" on the bottom your foot. At this point you don't know what it is or how serious it may be. Medical negligence is based on improper care that causes an injury. There is not enough information provided to give an opinion on whether your care was improper. Even if it was the viability of a care will still depend on the nature and extent of your injury. If you do not have a serious injury then even if there was negligence there will be no viable case to pursue. What you need now is a diagnosis for your heel condition. This will help you in two ways. First you need a diagnosis in order to get the treatment you need to get better. Second. you need a diagnosis to know whether you were the victim of negligence. You may be fine which would be wonderful though it would mean you have no "good" case to pursue. From what you describe you could have a very serious injury with some very bad consequences. Get yourself a good evaluation from an orthopedic surgeon not a podiatrist.
