You should not plead guilty to a charge without consulting an attorney. You need to talk with an attorney immediately. From your question is not clear why the gun increases the charge to Burglary 1st, unless there are statements that you were armed with the gun during the time you were attempting to get into the house or while in the house or trying to leave the house. I cannot stress how important it is for you to talk with an attorney before going to court in this matter.

I agree with Mr. Aaron. This is a very serious case. Burglary in the first degree is a Class A felony. It has a potential sentence of life in prison. Your post suggests that you are not guilty of the offense and in fact, may not be guilty of any offense, as one could argue that you have a right to break down the door of a residence in which you live. You need to speak with a qualified, criminal defense lawyer as soon as possible.

I highly recommend you consult a skilled, experienced criminal lawyer. It's our job to protect the rights of citizens. Don't let the police coerce you and retain an attorney ASAP !
