Can a conditional permanent resident get a green card to her child?

Green Cards 9 views 3 answers
Hi. I am currently a conditional permanent resident thanks to my marriage with my husband. I have a son from previous marriage. He is older than 21 years old. Can I get him a green card now or I have to wait until my conditions are removed? Thanks a lot in advance

You can file a petition. But the wait time is long. You may want to explore the other options for him before filing the immigrant petition.

A conditional Lawful Permanent Resident has all of the rights and privileges of a Lawful Permanent Resident, including the right to sponsor a relative. The only difference is the duration and the need to remove conditions. You should speak to an attorney about filing I-130 for adult son as long as he is not married.
