Primary residential parent in FL. Co-parent denied timesharing for 3-months, police say civil matter, need sooner court date

Family Law 2 views 3 answers
Ex has brainwashed pre-teen against me & my family & friends, refuses me all contact & I cannot get a hearing for 3-months for contempt & enforcement and/or pick up order. HOW can I get a court date sooner to mitigate the damage to our child or any other suggestions when dealing with severe alienation? Broward county. Thanks for your help.

Sadly, there are many cases similar to yours in the system so the likelihood of your case being deemed an "emergency," which would warrant an earlier date is unlikely. This really depends on the judge. If you did not file your motion on an emergency basis, if the facts are severe and you are being deprived of all contact with your child then you may want to put that in writing and ask for an expedited hearing.

There is no way to skip the line in Family Court. Only emergencies are heard sooner than the date the Judge gave you.

Unfortunately, you have to wait. There are too many cases similar to your and too few jusges.
