We live out of the USA, in France. Do you know what the waiting time is to receive the file package by mail at home after the form I 130 has been received in the local office? Thanks so much for your answer.

It makes no sense that the I-130 was sent to a USCiS Field Ofkfice if the beneficiaries are outside the country. The process should have gone to the NVC and then to the U.S. Consulate. There is no packet sent from a Field Office. You receive a notice to be fingerprinted and a Notice of Interview.

If you are living outside of the United States and you are the beneficiary of a FORM I-130, the case will be processed by the NVC and eventually by the US consulate in your home country. The approval of a FORM I-130 is not normally sent to a local USCIS office. In certain situations, the FORM I-130 is forwarded to a local USCIS office for an interview of the petitioner.

I-130's are not filed at the local office. You made a mistake and it's possible that your documents are not even under review. You should hire a lawyer to have it done properly.
