I was pulled over for my license plate light bulbs being out. The officer informed me that my license was suspended, but did not take me in and let my girlfriend drive us home. The officer said if I take care of an unpaid traffic citation in PA, which I thought was paid for, they'd throw out case. When I looked at the record online, they had charged me $4 after my last payment. Confused, then they added $40 on top for late fee. After I paid the $44, I received ANOTHER fine in the mail for the same ticket of $27.50, or if have a bench warrant fr my arrest in 10 days.
Every time I call that courthouse as to why I keep getting new fines, there's no answer.
Not knowing what to do, I went to the courthouse for commissioners office. They gave me a trial and and charg
Per rules we are not allowed to give prices, but this shouldn't be terribly expensive. Its one of the cheapest kinds of cases we do, but you'll need to call around and find someone you like. DO take this seriously, they do not just drop these things easily, especially if you don't have any leverage because you don't have an attorney. They aren't at all afraid of a trial against you. And the officer was probably just trying to keep you calm and be done with it because to say ah don't worry it'll all be dropped is just not that easy. And don't wait too long because if you still have some kind of suspension (especially an out of state one) then your lawyer may need time to help you figure out how to resolve that, and consultations are usually free for most of us

Pay the fine if you possible can. Get your license renewed before your court date. This is a criminal offense. It is far better to have a lawyer. It is not impossible to do this yourself, but not wise. It carries a maximum of a year in jail and 12 points will be assessed if you get a conviction. Your chance of a favorable outcome is increased if you have a lawyer.
All anyone can say about cost on this site is that it will not be much for a lawyer for this charge. If you really cannot afford a lawyer, try the locale Office of the Public Defender.

Attorneys charge a wide range of fees, but the fee for a charge like this should be reasonable. Attorneys cannot solicit clients or post their fees here. You will need to contact individual attorneys to obtain their fees.
If you have no priors and get your license reinstated, an attorney will likely be able to dispose of the case without a trial with you receiving no points or conviction although you will need to be in court. Contact an attorney to discuss your case.
