I arrived home on my street parking was available in front of my house. I drove up to the car beside me to parallel park. I waited for a clear view of traffic before I attempted to park. Then a car slammed into me.He got out and explained that he was looking down to grab a cigarrete lighter and didn't see me and didn't expect to see me double parked? I indeed was not. There was plenty of parking space in front of my destination. Did he not notice my right blinking signal?he clearly admits fault. I had two children and two adults in my car. One which my mother still has a sore neck.I only have liability which covers bodily injuries but not my car. I made a claim with his insurance and they called me that it is found 80/20!what can I do? I don't agree I have pictures of scene they haven't se
It would be in the best interest of you and your passengers for you to cease all communication with the other driver's insurance company until you seek a consultation from a car accident/personal injury attorney. Many reputable attorneys offer free consultations.
You chose NOT to purchase collision coverage. If the other driver admitted fault, write to the Department of Insurance, reciting, VERBATIM, what the other driver said and complaining that the insurance carrier is engaging in bad faith by failure to admit that its insured was 100% at fault. Send it certified and cc the insurance adjuster for the at-fault driver.

If you have not yet contacted your insurance carrier, do so, as well as the police. They will provide you the legal representation to which you are entitled. Just because the other carrier thinks you are 20% art fault does not make it so. Make sure everyone is getting any needed medical attention.
