Hi. Do I need to update my social security card after getting my green card? Will SSN change? Thank you.

If the Social Security Agency issued you a social security card with a "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION" or "NOT VALID FOR EMPLOYMENT" restriction and your immigration status has now changed to resident alien, you should apply for a new card without the restriction.

Once an individual is issued a social security number, the individual keeps that number for life (unless there are unusual circumstances, such as identity theft).
