Can I get out of a lease the day after I sign it before I move anything in?

We found a trailer we were going to rent. We saw it in the dark & BC we were desperate to find a place we rushed into it. we met at Mcds to sign the lease. We paid the prorated rent for that month. We were told we would need to buy new.locks for the house & went to see it for the 2nd time in the daylight & we were not impressed. The next day we decided that it really wasn't the right place for us & called explaining to her that we have changed our mind & will not be moving in. Since we weren't moving in & hadn't moved any of our stuff in I asked if we could get the rent we paid back to put toward something else. But that they could keep the locks we had bought (they were still unopened in the boxfor whoever move there. They said we couldn't get our $ back & they were holding us to lease.

It depends upon what the document you signed says. You are presumed to have read what you signed.

It depends on the terms of the lease that you signed, but assuming they are standard lease provisions, then you are bound the lease and the terms of payment.
