What happens if I request a court date to have modification of child support but now can not make it and don't need to as i found a new job and will be making payments.....I filed the motion to reduce support myself thru child support offices and cant reach anyone, court date is tomorrow , 8 hours away and have no means to make it there. The dcss lady originally told me if I didnt show it was just a waste of everyones time but nothing would happen.....is this true.

unless the matter was filed as an Order to Show Cause that was personally served on you or you were personally served with a Subpoena no warrant can or will be issued for your failure to appear. If the DCSS has sufficient information as to your new employment to run a guideline calculation it is possible that a new and different child support order may be issued at this hearing. If they do not, they can elect to drop the hearing due to insufficient evidence of any change in circumstances that would warrant a modification of the support obligation OR they may elect to continue the matter to obtain your new income information so that the modification may proceed and an appropriate new order may be issued.

A no show us not a good idea. You want to make a favorable impression on the Judge. Go to the OC Courts website and find the telephone number for the Court Room and explain your circumstances to the clerk. Tell her you want to take the matter "off calendar"
