Can f1 students have amazon seller account?

I am an f1 student. I had an amazon seller account to sell some old textbooks. I listed 6 books and got four orders. I read about some off campus work rules for f1 students and quickly cancelled the orders and closed the seller account. I did not get any money from any of the transactions. Am I still going to get in trouble just for opening an account and listing the books?

No, now that you closed your Amazon seller account, as soon as you learned could be a violation of your student status, you will not get into any trouble for "just opening an account" and listing your own books.

selling your old textbooks isn't work. some people use those accounts to earn money and that would be a problem

Opening the account and even selling the books would not adversely affect your F-1 status - so long as you weren't making a business out of it.
