Could I get in legal trouble for this

So I'm 19 and I live in Massachusetts. I'm still in highschool and me and a girl who had been my good friend for about a year started talking more and I guess Internet dating about a month ago. I make her happy and vice versa. She lives 600 miles away in Kentucky and I've never met her in person but we do skype vet often. She is 14 and her mom just got busted for controlled substance abuse and neglect towards my friend and so I was just wondering if there could be any charges against me for just internet dating someone like that. I've never intended on having any sexual contact with her nor do I plan to I'm just scared

Make absolutely sure not to accept any sexual pictures, images, videos, etc. from her. If you do, you could be charged with possession of child pornography. It is a little dangerous for you to be 'dating' someone that young, mainly due to the pictures/images issue. Many teens send out sexual images to those they are 'dating' and it can get the other person into some trouble. Be careful...

Attorney Callahan is correct. Follow her advise. However, simply chatting on the internet with no sexual exchange of words photos or suggestions will probably not get you in trouble. Ifvshe is making the sexual contact with you and you continue, you could be charged with a crime. Or face civil liability or both. Absent any nude or partially nude photos or sexually suggestive words or content you may be ok to just talk to her, provided her mother or guardian permits this.
