Withdrawing my N-400 application

US Citizenship 4 views 4 answers
I would like to seek some help in regards in withdrawing my N400 application. I recently sent my N400 a last week and i have never got any letter in the mail from USCIS telling me that they got my application. I NEED to withdraw my application because of work problems and as much as i wanted to become a US Citizen, my job is more important for now. There is nothing legal in my case, if ever my application moves on to the next process i will not be able to do the interview or biometrics. Is there anyone who can help me make a kind letter to USCIS and tell them to terminate my application? And should i send it to the address when i get the receipt letter from USCIS? Thanks!

A letter of withdrawal should simply state that your are hereby notifying them of your intent to withdraw your N-400 application, effective immediately. No need to give any reason. Make sure to mail to the USCIS district office where your interview is going to be scheduled to be held at. Keep a copy for your records and mail the letter certified mail, return receipt signature requested.

If you need real help, you need to run your record by an immigration attorney. As far as withdrawal is concerned, send a letter to USCIS and inform the agency you would like to withdraw.

The N-400 can be withdrawn by sending a letter to the USCIS. You should wait until your receive the USCIS receipt notice for the application.

Your question gives me major concerns. Why would you not be able to attend the interview? If you are leaving the U.S. for work for an extended period of time you need to take steps to preserve your green card. I suggest speaking with a lawyer before doing anything else.
