I applied for work permit I-765 and I received notice request for initial evidence mentioned " You failed to submit an acceptable photocopy of an identity document with Form I-765. Therefore, please submit a photocopy ( front and back ) of a photo identity document. The identity document must clearly show your facial features and biographical information.". I already submitted photocopy for my passport at first time when I filed the I-765 form. so what Identity document they need?

You should resubmit the copy of the page in your passport which contains your photograph. You also should submit your driver's license, if available.

every time you file you need to submit the passport biographical page, also any government issued ID will help if you have one.

If you can make color copy of biographic page of passport, it will help and any other photo ID issued by government of USA or your country will be good.
