I would like to know if any licensed attorney in VA can make an appeal through the Court of Appeals and the VA Supreme Court

Or, if he needs to be specifically admitted to the VA Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, How can I know who can who can and who can't? I was searching here on avvo but it does not specify if lawyers can go to Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. It only states that they are admitted to practice in VA. Thank you.

While any Attorney who has been admitted to practice law in Va can appear in front of the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Va., many choose not to... Look for someone that does appeals work.

Every VA attorney can practice before the Virginia Supreme Court and ALL inferior courts in the Commonwealth. However, an attorney who makes his or her full time practice focused on appeals is generally considered the "best" way forward. You wouldn't hire a foot doctor for your open heart surgery, you'd hire a surgeon who regularly conducts open heat surgery. Same for an appeal.
