Landlord moved new tenant in before i was finished moving out in Texas. Legal?

I fell behind on rent and had to move. I left some of my stuff behind but told the landlord id remove it by end of month. My landlord just wrote me and said that by the lease i have not been present in the home for 15 days, true, and that according to the lease he was taking posession and that my remaining belongings would be stored in the garage for 24 hours and if i dont get them he will throw them out. Plus he has already moved in a new tenant. Should i call the police to have these trespassers removed?
