Under Federal law, a misdemeanor domestic violence conviction carries a lifetime firearm ban. Unless you find an agency that doesn't require officers to carry guns, you're probably out of luck.
That can only be determined by looking at the statute or regulations governing employment as a correctional officer in the two states where you're planning on working. Even if there is a lifetime prohibition against DV misdemeanants having possession of firearms, as suggested by some of the other attorneys on this site but about which I don't know, that would not bar your employment as a CO in a Washington or Oregon state prison, which are controlled by state, not federal, laws.
In California, your prior conviction can be considered by the employer in making its determination whether it wants to hire you or not. Since you have posted in a California practice area, you will likely only get answers based on California law, but what you really need it guidance from a Washington or Oregon employment law attorney about the law of those states.
Good luck to you.
Anything is possible, but it will be difficult. Major problem: lifetime federal firearm ban. You may want to consider a different career path. Best wishes.
Unless you are targeting only positions in federal corrections facilities, you will need to consult with counsel in Washington or Oregon. If you are targeting federal facilities, you will have serious difficulties getting hired for C O positions.
