Interstate compact for felony diversion out of kansas

I was just placed on diversion for fenloy intent to distribute narcotics in the beautiful state of Kansas. My community corrections supervisor just called me, not sure if you will have to do a interstate compact for my diversion, because I live in the red state of Oklahoma city, Oklahoma.. Will this happen? What will happen? And is this bad that this is happening? What will change from the original diverison agreement signed by the D.A.? Confused!?!? Should I get a lawyer in Oklahoma ?

I don't know about Kansas, but Oklahoma doesn't care where you live once you're on probation, generally. I would apply to have your deferred transferred here to Oklahoma DOC. This should have been addressed when you pled, and may have been without you being aware/remembering. A lot can happen at plea. I would contact your original attorney in Kansas. Then I would have a conversation with your PO. I would be extremely surprised if you were forced to move to Kansas- in fact I'd be stunned and would fight that tooth and nail. Probations are transferred all the time to other States.

Kansas can't administer your diversion if you live in Oklahoma. One option is to transfer your diversion if Oklahoma is willing to take you. Another is to move to Kansas for the period of your diversion. Is it bad? It's neutral unless you have something against living in either state.
