How can I get my ex wife off the deed to my property so I can sell it to pay the back taxes.

Ex wife and I divorced 13yrs ago. When she left we had an agreement that she took what she wanted including our new explorer and I got the property. She filed for divorce two years after she left, and served me with divorce papers witch I signed, not knowing I was agreeing to the laws of a community porperty state over seeing the divorce. so after she left with everything she wanted they made me put my property up for sale to give her half of it. It never sold. I'm trying to sell it now and even got her to sign a quit claim deed. But the tittle company is saying I still have to honor the divorce papers, even though she agreed and notarized a quit claim deed. How do I get her off so she does not have any part in the sale of the property?

An attorney assisting you with this will want to review the underlying legal and related paperwork. It is not possible to give you an exact 'do x, y, z' as to the situation your described. In my work there is occasional need for me to interact with a title company in order to resolve a problem related to the sale of a property. Tricia Dwyer Esq.

You will want to consult with an attorney regarding your situation. The attorney will need to review your divorce decree and can talk to the title company to verify what it says is the problem.
