Looking for an attorney

My dad mentally abused me and my two sisters by ignoring a court order to pay child support and admitting he'd go to prison before he gave us a dime. While his 5 kids from his second marriage got everything they wanted we had to deal with the electricity being turned off for a total of 9 days because my mom simply didn't have the money to pay for it. My dad knew this and not once did he offer to help.
As I stated earlier there was the Bradley amendment that was passed and from what I've been told by several attorneys is Denver that law was passed for children like me who had a father who had the money to pay child support but refused to
To make a long story short I need help finding an attorney. I already called the state bar and received no help. Anyone have any suggestions?
You can try avvo's 'find a lawyer' tab, or you can use any search engine to locate attorneys in your area who handle family law matters. Odd the State Bar was no help: did you ask for their lawyer referral service or their website http://www.cobar.org/index.cfm/ID/22648 ?
Well, that's odd, just tried it myself and apparently there is only one lawyer in all of Denver who practices family law--so you are right, something is not working with their site since there are more likely thousands of area family law attorneys. Try avvo's 'find a lawyer' tab. Good luck to you.
Your biggest hurdle is to establish that you have a claim that you can pursue. The Bradley Amendment, does appear to prevent child support orders from expiring, but it does not appear to do anything to transfer the judgment from your mother to you or to give you an unlimited amount of time to pursue a judgment on your own. This would appear to be her claim. She is the person who needs to schedule an appointment with a lawyer.
