I would like to adopt my adult former stepchildren together with my ex-wife. Is that possible in Florida?

There are two children that are both adults and desire to be adopted by me and unfortunately I did not do a step parent adoption prior to our divorce. I see that only a single individual or a married couple may petition to adopt in Florida. A further small problem may be that they live in California although they come to see me several times a year here in Florida. I do subsidize all of their living expenses and the lease in California is in my name as well.
