Would I have a chance at emancipation? What is my first step?

I have been left out by my family and I am being how you would say neglected. My mom said she is done doing things to help me and she is just done dealing with me. I currently am not in best living conditions but it could be worse. She has neglected to let me contact my birth father even when she claims she has talked to him in past 6 months along with her stating she doesn't care what I do anymore. I have a job and am bring in money and am working on school and a new living place if I were to be given the right to emancipation. I have full expectations to finish high school but I need out so I can take care of myself the way I should. Not to mention I have just started living with my mom 5 years ago and I am 2 weeks from 16.

Based on the information that you have provided, I do not believe that you could be emancipated or support yourself.

There is no way to tell you whether or not you would be successful. You should review the requirements for emancipation and weigh each of the requirements carefully. If you believe you have a chance, you should hire an attorney to assist you in the process. If you believe you need to be placed in a better living environment, you can contact CPS or request that your Mother allow someone else to become your guardian. Don't rush to become emancipated...being grown up isn't all it is cracked up to be.
