Hello. Me and my family get here from mexico almost 2 years ago because of so many situations. I got kidnapped once from the mexico city police and i had to close my business because of the threats on my family and friends. I came here with a tourist visa and mexican passport (both valid and unexpired) I'm looking to get documents to work legally in this country and get a better, safer life with y family in here. I wonder if there is any option to get at least for the moment a social to work legally in this country, meanwhile i can work and go from there to get green card or something that shows we are legally in this country. Thanks and im forward to talk with the right lawyer. I have no parents, wife, kids U. S. Citizen. Just my wife, kid and myself. Thanks again

We would need more info on your education and work experience. A possibility may be a non immigrant E-2 investor visa where you invest in a US. Business. There is no specific number other than it must be substantial. We like to use as close as $100k investment.

You should explore the TN, E-1, E-2, L-1, J-1, EB-5, etc. You will be best served in consulting with an experienced immigration attorney who can sort through your background and suggest the visa that is best for you. Good luck to you.

Because you have over stayed your authorized stay, you are not eligible to change status to any of the non immigrant visas mentioned and because of the overstay the US consulates in Mexico would be unlikely to issue the visa either. You might want to talk to an experienced lawyer about asylum based relief.
