I was a victim of a home invasion in which me and two other people were shot and suffered injuries and also had a legally owned firearm that was taken away and never returned with the criminals still on the lose.

No. You can't make the State do anything regarding pressing criminal charges or arresting someone. If you want to go after the home invaders, you must sue them.
