Unless the IEP requires that it stop in front of your house, they can require him to walk a mile (as far as a walker walks to school) to a bus stop in NJ (half a mile more for high school).

What matters is how it reads in your child's IEP. If it reads curb to curb then that is what the district needs to provide. If they changed the IEP for next year then you have 15 days from the date you received written notice of the change to file due process. Also you should ask the district to make a reasonable accommodation as a result of your disability. I suggest that you contact an attorney experienced in handling special education matters.

As noted, the District cannot change that without changing the IEP. They cannot change the IEP without having an IEP meeting (unless you agree to waive the meeting because you agreed to the change in writing). If they made such a change and you did not get invited to such a meeting, call the District to see if such an invite was sent, tell them you never received it (if it was sent) and request a new IEP meeting to discuss it. If you do not get a response or a meeting scheduled ASAP, then you should contact an education attorney who represents parents.
