My mother appointed two out of 6 of the siblings to act as her executor. To date, the will has yet to be disclosed. We are just "piece-mealed" bits and pieces of information. Disbursement checks are given when it is convenient for them. 4 of us haven't a clue as to the contents of the will or the complete value of the estate.

Typically the death certificate and Will are deposited with the Probate Court when the Petition for Probate is submitted to the Court. The executor has a fiduciary duty to disclose and account for the Estate to the beneficiaries. See .com under the link 'Find-A-Lawyer' and enter Probate as the area of Law.
