Hopefully you are single too and will be able to remain so until obtaining your green card through one of your parents.
Depending on your country of birth ad nationality, I would venture to say at least 9-11 years.
Hi, if you are unmarried, then you would be an F-1 category. It depends on your nationality to determine how long it will take for your visa becomes available. Check the following website for details. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/approved/checkdate.html

The category is F2B. The site is http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/law-and-policy/bulletin.html. The rest of the work of looking up you can do on your own.
You would need to check the visa bulletin as most visas, including this one, are a two stage process that require both a petition and an acceptance of that petition. As there are only a limited number of visa available in a lot of visa categories, again including this one, a line and wait develops. How long of a wait depends on a number of things including whether or not you are married and where you are from.
So you would need to check the visa bulletin, linked below, to see what category you would fall into (probably F1) and to see when your visa would become available. At the moment they are making visas available for most individuals that had petitions filed on their behalf in that category back in October 2007.
I would recommend consulting with an immigration attorney if you would like help filing your petitions.
This will depend on what country you are from and your marital status. Have your parents met with an immigration lawyer to help with the process? In the meantime, you can look at the visa bulletin to determine the waiting period for you.
Good luck!
