Can I file a class action lawsuit against my condo association for gouging with late fees and over charging by an Attorney?

After paying off what I owed in arrears, I was sent a new bill which was double the original amount by the Attorney who collects the fees. This now seems that I will never be able to pay off the new arrears since they are charging more in interest, than the mortgage I pay plus an exorbitant amount in late fees. Most of the original homeowners have already lost their condos and i.m afraid i'd be next.

Whether it's an individual claim only, or something that could qualify as a class action, would need more facts to answer. Talk to a MD class action lawyer to review your options. Be well.

You cannot file a class-action lawsuit since you're not an attorney. You can however speak to a Maryland attorney about your options it's doubtful they include a class-action but certainly worth talking about.

The term "class action" refers to a very specific procedural device used to assert a claim on behalf of a large group of people when it is impractical to name all of those people as plaintiffs in a lawsuit. Unless there are a significant number of people in your association affected by this practice (typically 40, but courts are more and more looking for much larger numbers), a class action is probably not appropriate. This does not mean that you don't have a good individual claim - you should talk with an attorney to evaluate your situation. If there are other people affected by this, they can join your lawsuit without it being a class action.
