Eb-1

My husband is a professional boxer currently on P-1 visa. He has numerous national and international awards and currently is #103 in the world. An attorney we spoke with advised that he needs to be At least #50 to apply for EB-1. Could you kindly share your opinions. Thank you.

It depends how good he is, to qualify as an alien of extraordinary ability.

There is no hard and fast rule on how good of a boxer one must be in order to get an EB-1. The standard is "extraordinary ability." Lots of athletes qualify, but more do not. You can certainly put in your application and see how it goes.

His ranking alone, while important, will not determine is eligibility for EB-1 classification - the USCIS will look at the totality of his accomplishment and recognition in the field.
