AOS requirement if I don't have Job, No Income and have been filing taxes with parents as dependent

I am a US Citizen. I am about to marry in my home country so I will be filing for my spouse in next couple of months. In immigration process there is a step when you need to provide affidavit of support for spouse. My parents claim me a dependent. I don’t work, never had a Job so I don’t have income at all. What are the options I have to full fill this requirement? Do I need to have a Job and must have separate returns even I have co-sponsor to full fill this requirement.

As the US citizen sponsor, you must file an affidavit of support, but if you have no income you will not meet the support requirements. In this case, you would also need to find a joint sponsor who will agree to all of the same requirements under an affidavit of support and who also has sufficient income for the sponsorship. You do not need to be employed or have separate tax returns for previous years as long as you can find a joint sponsor whose income is sufficient for the support requirement and who will agree to complete an affidavit of support. I would recommend getting in touch with an immigration lawyer for assistance if you are confused about the requirements or the process.

You will need to complete the affidavit of support. If you do not meet the income requirements, you will need a co-sponsor.

If you have a co-sponsor, then it doesn't matter if you have a job or file tax returns. But you will have to file your own I-864 (with an explanation of why you haven't filed tax returns), along with the co-sponsors I-864.
