Jul 1st rent paid 6/24 electronically and have confirmation of payment receipts. Landlord states rent past due, what do I do?

We are roommates, both accounts show balances have cleared. The property is held by Morgan Properties and payment is Payment Services Network (PSN). The PSN service has had continued problems since we signed our lease in January (e.g. when checking for amount owed online (rent and utilities come as a separate bill and paid as one) the amount owed has continually showed zero, the rental manager has instructed us just pay the total amount owed (rent is known and we get a hard copy for utilities), and have done without issue, until now.) What should the landlord do to show good faith, if error on their part, for our future protection?

Pay on time. Pay in full. Keep your receipts. If you do those three things you will have a defense to any nonpayment challenge. Sounds like your property manager can't get their automated system squared away, or landlord is being sloppy and not properly documenting what he or she validates by checking the automated system.

Attorney Rafter is directly on point. This problem is not yours, but apparently the landlord's. Keep good documentation of your payments. I would further suggest that you provide a letter to the Landlord delineating your payment history and rebutting the allegation of late payments.
