How Long does it take to process Change of status ( B2 to F1) case?

I am On B2. The USCIS has received my case at Vermont on April 16th 2015. I was told from my College it usually takes 2 months for the authority to make a decision on a change of status application. I would really appreciate if you could give an approximate time frame when should I expect a response from the USCIS? Thank You in advance.

You seem to have been given incorrect, incomplete information. Based on my experience, it typically takes USCIS 5-6 months to process a Form I-539 application for change of status, to whichever category. The "processing times' report at CIS' website often fail to comport with reality and are overly optimistic, a "wish list", if you so will..
