Moving is grandparents having visitation rights

Last year my wife passed away. Me and my in laws don't get along. Her parents got granted visitation right through court. I'm looking into moving next year to AZ. What steps do I need to take before I make this move?

You will need to either reach an agreement with the grandparents regarding their court ordered visitation or return to court to modify their visits. You need an attorney to guide you through this delicate situation. If you don't get along with them it could be difficult. I would suggest mediation also.

You need to consult with your lawyer, or a new lawyer experienced in family law. Much may depend on the wording of the court order granting the grandparent visitation. It is likely that the planned move will impact the visitation rights afforded to the grandparents.

You may require permission from the court before moving to a location that would prevent visitation. Review your order to see if this issue is addressed and/or contact a family law attorney in your area.
