I am married and my wife has taken our child out of state to NC without any knowledge. What can I do to get child back?

My wife has fled to another state to keep me away from our child in he middle of night without any knowledge and I would like to take all of the necessary steps to allow her(child) to return with me. I'd like to try and gain custody.

Under the UCJJEA, Ohio will have jurisdiction over child custody for six months after the child is removed from the state. You will need to consult with a local child custody attorney who can help you file for custody.

Get an attorney quickly as finding your wife and serving her may prove difficult. Don't delay.

To add to the previous answer, due to the time constraint placed upon you (6months) I would highly recommend contacting an attorney and filing as soon as possible so that you do not have to worry about filing in the state of NC.
