Questions about Civil suit against landlord who raped me..

Hello, Ty for reading my post.I have been renting from a former friend 6months now.He recently entered the house while I was sleeping& started choking,suffocating&then raped me.I reported the incident immediately&the officer took me to ER for exam.He still has not been arrested pending the evidence due of rape kit in which our county is overwhelmed.This has been hard on me due to the fact that I was drugged&sexually assaulted Dec&my landlord was aware of this.I've been diagnosed w/depression&anxiety yrs ago by my DR.This recent incident caused significant depressiom that I almost committed suicide@1point I slept 8days straight.I have no will to function because of what he done.Can I sue him?If so how much can I seek?which court to file?he inherited this house,nothing more.No job,no income
