Is there a law re: minor cell phone tracking being used against a non-related minor?

Business 4 views 3 answers
My son is friends with a boy who has a tracker on his cell phone (by his parents). My son sent his a personal text about a very private matter. The mom is now using this information and spreading horrible gossip about my son. He is devastated. I understand that they have authority to track their own minor child, but where are the privacy lines drawn when it impacts another minor who is not related to them? Aren't they invading my sons privacy?

Well if this mother is tracking her own son and your son happens to be with him, then isn't her son just as bad as your boy? I mean where r they going together to make it embarrassing? Please explain...

There is no "law," but there may be a civil cause of action involved. Best to pick up the phone and have a consultation with a privacy lawyer. At the very least they could send a cease and desist letter to prevent further spread of information. Use the Find a Lawyer tab on this site to locate privacy attorneys in your area.
