If my DUI from dec 2008 had been dropped to careless, any way to get expunged from my DMV record so I can get a driving job?

I have been trying to partner with Uber in Minneapolis and the background check with the DMV red flags me and until expungement I can not get a job with them. Is this even worth pursuing? DUI in 2008 has been dropped to a careless. Thank you for any help!

This is a fact specific question, but the answer is likely yes. For the most accurate advice, you should talk to a criminal defense attorney in more detail about your situation. Most offer free consultations, so don't be afraid to call around.

As the previous posters have urged, you should contact a defense attorney that works in the area where you picked up your conviction. Certain attorneys are more knowledgeable than others about how to navigate the DMV. You should get a sense of whether you have the right attorney during your consultation with him or her.
Good luck!
The law in Minnesota allows you to have your criminal record expunged. However, you may have a police record, a DMV record, etc. on top of your court record. The court expungement does not get rid of your record with other entities. You would have to talk directly to those entities to see whether they have a process for clearing your record in their database if/when a court expunges your record.
