Geico auto insurance investigation - 2 similar claims in 5 days - do I need a lawyer?

Business 2 views 1 answers
I was involved in 2 accidents within 4 days driving the same car. First accident was minor with scratched right side of the car. No other cars were involved ( I hit a curb). At that time I had 1 sided insurance. After opening claim Geico declined coverage due to lack of specific insurance. I instantly upgrade to full insurance to be fully protected. Then 4 days later I had very similar accident where I was trying to avoid collision with animal and hit the curb and had major damage to the car on the same right side. I opened another claim and now Geico stating that I did not have second accident. Car is totaled. They recorded statement and now scheduling another in person interview. Im not sure what to do. Feels like they want to frame me for insurance fraud. Should I have lawyer present?

You should probably consult with an attorney before going forward with the examination under oath. Did you take any photographs of the damage from the first accident to compare them to the second accident? At first blush, this does look a little fishy so I don't blame the carrier for being concerned about your claims. How many people run into curbs twice in a week, especially after they just sign up for collision coverage. Good luck, but I can see them denying your claim as an intentional act.
