My son was assaulted while on the clock at McDonald's and then his assailants waited for him outside of the McDonald's and assaulted him again and cut his face.

You need a personal injury attorney right away. That attorney may bring claims against the assailants (who may have no money) and McDonald's (who have plenty). Good luck.

A personal injury attorney and a worker's compensation attorney. Your son may have more than one remedy available to him so you should speak with an attorney as soon as possible.

If your son was employed by McDonald's and was assaulted while on the job that is a workers' compensation case and you should consult with a workers' compensation lawyer. You cannot sue your employer for an on-the-job injury.

Your son is entitled to Worker's Comp. That's all. So if he is getting his worker's comp benefits, he won't need an attorney. If they cut him off or offer a lump-sum, then he needs a workers comp lawyer
