Assigned a nurse case manager. Re-injury to a 10 year old work comp claim. Am I able to fire her?

Am I able to issue in writing and verbally to the Dr that I do not authorize any communication between he and the NCM due to doctor-patient confidentiality? Am I able to fire the NCM without an attorney. Because of the circumstances of my claim (age, out-of-state wc claim origination, complex injuries) I have been told multiple times (after an exhaustive search spanning 1 month) that no lawyer will accept my case as it had already settled several years ago. At this point, I am attempting to receive treatment with the use of my awarded LMBs. Past experience has shown me that NCMs are seemingly always looking out for the employer's interests in keeping costs to a minimum. NCM question everything the Dr recommends. Am I able to fire the NCM? Thanks

You can't fire someone who you didn't hire and who doesn't work for you.

No. The Nurse Case Manager works for the Insurance Company, not for you. In Tennessee the NCM has a right to be present when the Doctor tells you his findings and recommendations, but if you do not want him or her present during an examination, tell the doctor and they will be required to leave the room.
