Do i need to get a lawyer ? the apartment complex i am still currently living in, filed a judgment against

the apartment complex i am still currently living in flied a judgment against , but i paid the agree amount out of court , so i can keep living in the apartment . i have s/w the apartment complex and they stated they will s/w their lawyer to get the judgment removed off my credit report. it has now been 2 yrs and the judgment is still on my credit , i was wondering, do i have the right to file a lawsuit against them for defamation.

No, there is no case for defamation. They had a right to sue you, they did, and received a judgment. They should have filed a satisfaction of judgment when you paid it off, but there would still be a record of the judgment against you on your credit report, but it would show as paid. Tell the lawyers to file a satisfaction of judgement if they haven't already.
